その日の午後、沢田賢一郎の12.9kgに続いてマリーアンが幸運の10.1kgをランディング。いつものことながら、ボウズを免れホッとする。

Mary Anne caught 10.1kg just after Ken's catching 12.9kg in Renna Pool.

　
これで２匹。「２匹釣ったからもう止めよう」とは誰も言わない。ここでたたみかけておかないといつ釣れなくなるかわからない。

We got 2 salmon now.

　
写真は後にしてとにかく川に入る。

We have to continue fishing, because salmon are still coming into this pool with splashing.

　

再びアタリが来た。しかしかすかな弱いアタリ。いつまで待っても走ろうとしないサーモン。こんな時はいつもサーモンと根比べ。決して焦ってはいけない。

Ken got a gentle touch of a salmon. The salmon did not run quickly.

　
ごく弱いプレッシャーをかけながらラインを巻くと、サーモンはあっさり近くに寄ってきた。

Ken continues to give a faint pressure to the salmon. When he wound the reel, the salmon easily came up to the bank.

　
寄ってきたサーモンは今度はジリジリと下り始める。ロッドをサーモンの方に向け、素直にラインを出してやる。ここでも、微弱なプレッシャーを与え続ける。

Then salmon ran downstream slowly with Ken's same faint pressure.

　
ようやくサーモンが我に返って、流心に向かって走り出した。ロッドを思いっきり曲げてフッキング。アタリがあってからここまで、何と9分もかかった。

Finally the salmon began to run into the fast current. Ken made his rod bend to hook the salmon up. It was 9 minutes after the gentle touch!!!

　
やっとファイト開始。フライはローズマリー。急速に青空が広がったのでサイズは１インチを使用。

Ken started fighing with the salmon. His fly was Rosemary tied on 1" plastic tube.

　
ファイトしている間にも、別のサーモンの跳ねが見える。結構な群れが通りかかっているようだ。このファイトが終わるまで待っていてくれと願うばかり。

Ken looked at the other salmon running up the river while fighting. He wanted to catch next big one, too.

　
流心に向かって走ったサーモンのジャンプ。やっと飛んでくれた。

This is the first jumping of this salmon.

　
慎重なファイトの末に寄ってきたサーモン。ファイトがおとなしかったので８kgくらいかと、まずは小さめに見積もる。

Ken thought this salmon about 8kg because of its gentle fighting.

　

手で持ってみて、「ウーン、11kgかな・・・」。実際の計測では11.2kg。今のところかなり正確な見積もりだ。

Ken measured by himself. "This is about ... 11kg!" The fish was really 11.2kg at NFC office.
　 　

12.9kg、10.1kg、11.2kgと10キローオーバーを３匹並べたのは初めて。さあ、これからいくつ釣れるか・・・と、取らぬ狸の皮算用。

It was very luckcy day, 3 salmon over 10kg. Ken expected next ones, but you will say, "you should never count your chickens before they are hatched."....
　 　
が、何回流してもプールはシーン。群れが行ってしまったのだ。空が快晴になったところであきらめてロッドをたたむ。

As expected, there were nothing. No splashing, no touch.
